Finally, after two long years I’ve posted a new portfolio piece! It’s one of my favorite scenes from Saints Row 2.
I’m glad so many of you are enjoying Saints Row 2. The cinematics have received some great reviews as well! I’ve collected some of the best comments… here’s a sampling:
“The actual narrative itself is also very well crafted, with some quite frankly hilarious writing that’s pulled off very successfully by the game’s large cast of voice talent. Eliza Dushku, Jamie Pressly, Daniel Dae Kim and Neil Patrick Harris are all excellent, and that’s just naming a few. The cast all come together to make the characters believable and entertaining, to the extent that you will really care and take it personally when something bad happens to a fellow gang-member. There are also some very cool cut-scenes that help progress the story, with some well choreographed fight scenes and other surprises that make every moment of the story a pleasure to watch and experience”
“As you progress through the various gang stories, cutting a bloody swath in the process, you’re treated to some of the best directed cut scenes in a video game to date. Beautifully choreographed and fantastically voiced, these cut scenes are a joy to watch and do a great job of not only telling the story, but helping to flesh out your character. People will die as a result of your actions and when they do, it is tough to watch, knowing that they’re dead because of you, but it makes the subsequent revenge missions so much more satisfying. This game is also shockingly brutal at times and has not only violence in the cut scenes, but foul language and sex; it defines what the M for Mature rating is all about.”
“The cutscenes are really well done, too, with some surprisingly good writing. I was not expecting Saints Row 2 to feel fresh and fun in that department, but there you go. “
Who hoo! This is the best part, seeing everyone’s reaction to the game.
SR2 is almost here! Well, for you guys at least. I’m eager to hear what everyone has to say about it, and in particular, the cinematics. We’ve worked extremely hard to bring you high quality cutscenes with an engaging story, and as usual, SR2-humor. Enjoy the game, everyone!
Here’s the launch trailer for SR2, which is made up mostly of cutscenes.
After the game is released, I plan on putting more scenes up to finally update my portfolio….
We’ve been working for two years in the dark- now you get to see what the cinematics team has been up to on SR2. Here’s the first cinematic trailer for SR2.
